A screwball comedy with Herbert Marshall and Jean Arthur as a charmingly mismatched couple. He plays the ruler of a car factory, she an unemployed woman looking for a job. When they happen to sit next to each other on a park bench, she spontaneously asks him to pretend to be her husband so that they can apply for a joint position as a butler and cook. Without revealing his true identity, he agrees and they find themselves in the house of a gangster who got rich from smuggling.
William A. Seiter largely shot comedies and musicals for a range of different studios, including films with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, the Marx Brothers, Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth.
